Notice to all Musicians:

Looking for the Best Blue's Bands to compete at this year's River City Blues Society Competition for the 2013 International Blues Challenge. The competition will be held at The Budweiser's Illinois Blues Festival on August 31st and September 1st at the CEFCU Stage on Peoria's Riverfront. Bands must be available both days of competition.

The winner of this competition will represent River City Blues Society at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis early in 2013, and receive a cash grant of $1500 to cover expenses.

Scoring is based on Blues Content, Vocals, Talent, Originality, and Stage Presence.

Matthew Curry and The Fury deliver energized blues along with great show. Matthew, at 16 and already a veteran performer, is astonishing audiences with his lead guitar playing, original songs, and soulful voice.

Matthew Curry is backed by The Fury, pro players including Greg Neville, (drums) and Jeff Paxton (bass).

Their debut CD, "If I Don’t Got You", also features a horn section, background vocals, blazing guitar solos, solid lyrics and well-crafted melodies that highlight Matthew’s versatility. Influences include Sonny Landreth, Albert Collins, ZZ Top and Joe Bonamassa. Larger venues would include the big band.
